After the winter, comes the spring.
Its emerald-green fields, under a blue sky
Are bathed in warm sunshine.
And driving through beige-coloured villages
We catch a glimpse, in an occasional yard,
Of tulips red and yellow-gold.
Nearer home, orchards of plums have burst into life.
Their black branches, drenched in snow-blossoms,
Herald the valley of the Lot.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to miss the river? Cam you see the Garonne from your new hilltop?
I don't think I will miss the river. There will be other attractions. I will have lots to do in the garden, which will keep me busy. We can see the Pyrenees far off in the distance, but not the Garonne. We are quite close to the Garonne, near Buzet sur Baise ... and plan to do some cycling along the canal.
